Many insurance companies manage other health plans under their networks. If your plan isn’t listed, we may still accept it when a larger network we work with runs it. Please call us so we can check your plan and benefits before you book.

What insurance covers at Memor Health

Coverage varies from plan to plan, so we check your benefits for the service you need before your first visit. Here is how it usually works for each kind of care.

  • Therapy: individual therapy, including CBT and EMDR, is billed to your insurance like other outpatient care, in person or by telehealth (teletherapy).
  • Psychiatry: psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits are billed to your insurance, in person or by telehealth.
  • TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation): many plans cover TMS for depression only after approval from the plan first, called prior authorization. Our team handles that request with you.
  • Spravato (esketamine): coverage also depends on your plan and often needs prior authorization. We check it before treatment starts.
  • Ketamine treatment: insurance does not cover ketamine treatment at this time, so it is self-pay. Call us to talk about cost.

What you pay depends on your plan’s copay, deductible, and whether we are in network for you. We go over this with you by phone before your first visit.

Self-pay and out-of-network care

If you don’t have insurance, call us for self-pay rates.

If we are out of network for your plan, you can pay for your visits yourself and ask us for a superbill. That is a detailed receipt you can send to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Please check your out-of-network benefits with your insurer first.

Medicaid

We do not accept Medicaid plans of any kind. This includes Nevada Medicaid plans run by private insurance companies, even when we accept that company’s other plans. If you have Medicaid, your plan’s member services line can point you to a mental health provider in its network.

Questions about insurance

Does insurance cover therapy?

Many health plans cover therapy, but each plan sets its own copay, deductible, and limits. If your plan is on our list, we check your therapy benefits before your first session. We offer therapy in person and by telehealth.

Does insurance cover a psychiatrist?

Many plans that cover mental health care also cover visits with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner. That includes medication management.

How do I find a psychiatrist that takes insurance in Reno?

Start with the plan list above. If your plan is listed or run by one of these networks, call 775-827-2400. We confirm your coverage and book you with one of our psychiatric providers.

What should I have ready when I call?

Your insurance card and a list of any medications you take. Our new patients page walks through the rest of the steps.
