Betsy Ossler, LCSW
Betsy Ossler, LCSW has a BA in Psychology from the University of Denver, and later earned her Master’s in Social Work from UNR. Betsy has practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for nearly 25 years both in the private and public sectors, specializing in children and adolescents, but also treating adults as well. Working for the State of Nevada for close to 10 years, Betsy started an intensive, in-home treatment program, working with at risk children birth to six, and their families. After five years, Betsy continued working for the State of Nevada in outpatient treatment services with children/adolescents ages seven to eighteen focusing on issues of trauma, divorce, attachment, grief/loss, and all areas of emotional and behavioral disturbances. Betsy places a strong emphasis on family work, as well as corroborating with ancillary systems/providers working with her clients.
In 2002, Betsy relocated with her family to Raleigh. North Carolina, and joined a private clinic, where for 15 years Betsy was seen as the clinical expert in working with children and adolescents of high conflict divorce. She testified in court as an expert witness on behalf of her clients in a multitude of very complex clinical/legal situations. Betsy, her two daughters, two dogs and a rabbit moved back to Reno in 2017, after an amazing drive across this beautiful country. She has always considered Reno/Tahoe as “home,” and she’s thrilled to be serving the families of Nevada again. Betsy believes in her clients, and with strong rapport, guides them to believe in themselves. Betsy conducts individual, family, and group psychotherapy using a variety of treatment modalities, and she sees it as a privilege to work with her courageous clients. .
